A boat was overturned in the deepwater area near the island of Koh Adang, Thailand, and eight trapped crew members sought help. Despite the timely rescue attempt, the Royal Thai Navy had to re-examine the capsized boat for a possible oil spill. The boat was already on its way down to the depths when they arrived. To their surprise, they found four terrified, soaking wet cats trapped and waiting for somebody to help them. The Navy Officers knew they couldn’t leave those poor fellas behind, so a quick rescue operation was discussed and deployed.

When Navy officers returned to check for an oil spill from a sinking boat, they discovered four cats huddled on a crane structure
Wichit Pukdeelon, a First-Class Petty Officer, zoomed in on the wreck with his camera to investigate the boat. That’s when he noticed four cats clinging to a crane-like structure for dear life. Another rescue operation was launched right away and gained instant success.
Thatsaphon Saii, 23, stripped down to his underwear, put on a life jacket, and swam 50 feet to save the kitties
Thatsaphon Saii, 23, one of the members, recognized the urgency of the situation and acted quickly. In an attempt to save them, he grabbed a life jacket and dived into the water without hesitation. He swam around 50 feet and quickly reached the sinking boat. As the fires were spreading, there wasn’t much time left before the boat sank completely. He swam with the cats, one by one, on his shoulders back and forth between two boats.

All four cats were safely rescued and boarded the navy ship
The officers could finally let out a sigh of relief as they watched the disastrous boat sink completely engulfed in flames, and also when the four cats eventually landed on the Royal Thai Navy’s vessel. However, the sinking wasn’t the worst part, as according to officers, the ship’s oil tank is prone to spilling and is extremely hazardous to the environment. The Navy is in contact with other agencies in an attempt to retrieve the wreckage before it causes too much environmental damage. Oil spills wreak havoc on coral reefs and eventually settle on the seabed, putting the flora and fauna at even more risk.
The rescued cats are now being cared for in a command post on the island of Koh Lipe by the Royal Navy
The cats were later brought to the Royal Thai Navy’s command post on the island of Koh Lipe, where they are currently safe and sound. The savior Thatsaphon Sai, who practically crossed the oceans to save these four adorable kitties, was pleased that they were rescued. He was certain that the cats would have drowned or died of thirst if the Navy hadn’t rescued them.
