Once upon a time, there was an American Shorthair kitty secretly accessed to the organization of 3 Shiba Inus, but the dogs didn’t even realize there was a spy among them!
“The reason why I wanted to expand our family with a cat rather than a dog was quite simple: I’ve had a cat in the past.” – A Japanese couple had been raising Shiba Inu pups for several years but the wife considered adding a kitty to the gang.
“But when I told my husband that I wanted a kitty, I learned he wasn’t very fond of cats. I kept at it, but he refused every time. After some time, however, I was able to find a cat we both liked.” Eventually, they settled down with a gray American Shorthair feline with his standing ears just like his doggo siblings.
The couple chose a breeder in Kanagawa and soon joined the group. Luckily, a cat (named Kiki) and those Shiba Inus got along with each other so well right from the start! And now Kiki started to feel and act like his brothers as if he was a dog.

They were surprised by the dogs’ behavior when they took them (of course included Kiki the cat) to the Shiba Inu party.
“Kiki was getting along with all the dogs just fine, but one of them suddenly started barking at him. Immediately, one of our Shibas, Saki, barked back, protecting Kiki. At that point, I understood they’ve become true companions.”

We all know cats and dogs have a very different characteristics but this squad is an exception. Kiki and the Shibas are doing everything together. From napping to hanging around the outdoors, they always got each other’s covered.
“The Shibas are usually quiet at home, so Kiki seems to be able to rest whenever he wants with a peaceful mind.” the cat’s owner explained.
“Sometimes Kiki does something athletic before going to bed at night and joins us in the bedroom to get some sleep.”

“I often hear that it’s the dogs who get used to their owner’s sleeping schedule, and cats are the jerks who get up early and wake you up at 4 AM or something like that, but Kiki also sleeps together with the rest of us until morning.”
Guess after all this time, the dogs would never trade Kiki for the world because they’re friends for life now and forever!
