UnHide is on a quest to save all of the animals in America who are killed for the sake of fashion every year. They explain, “We’re on a quest to outlaw the sale of actual fur in the United States.”
They upload very instructive movies on TikTok as part of that aim in order to get more people to care about the animal kingdom. After all, the more information we have, the more likely we are to empathize with the cause. What is the best-case scenario? We’re motivated to take action and make a positive difference in the world. What’s the worst-case scenario? By watching movies of cute animals, we educate ourselves and learn something new.
UnHide goes into great length on purring, grooming, and other cat activities in the second video
The TikToker went into even more depth regarding purring in the third video, including how many cats should actually avoid milk
Meanwhile, the fourth movie focused on some of the more unusual and nasty aspects of cat biology
While the fifth and final film addressed a variety of different issues, such as why cats like to sit on our laps
Nina Downing, a PDSA vet nurse, talks about how we can encourage our cats to get more exercise. After all, this makes them healthier and happier, and they can continue to enrich our lives for many more years.
The greatest method to get our cats to exercise and move more, according to vet nurse Nina, is to appeal to their more fun elements of personality.
“The greatest method to persuade cats to exercise is to play with them, and this is a terrific opportunity for owners to spend time with them and demonstrate their affection for them,” she added, adding that playtime is about us bonding with our pets by simply spending more time engaging them.
Some cats, particularly overweight chonks, are incredibly lethargic and will not move much on their own. That’s where a little (or a lot) of patient assistance from the owner might help them reclaim their health.
“Cats often require encouragement to exercise, especially if they are overweight and lose interest in play,” PDSA vet nurse Nina explained, adding that your cat’s connection with playtime could be an indicator of health difficulties.
“As cats gain weight, their behavior changes gradually over time, which can be difficult for owners to notice—they don’t want to get up and play, they prefer to sleep a lot, they’ve stopped leaping up on furniture, and they’re slowing down due to their age,” according to the pet health expert.
However, some of the statements Nina has overheard in pet weight clinics aren’t simply comments; they’re justifications for their pets’ lack of physical activity. “When it comes down to it, it’s the extra weight that makes them unwilling to move because it’s too much effort,” the vet nurse explained.
