Ali Safa was having a relaxing day at home in Canberra, Australia, when he decided to walk out into the yard to enjoy the sun.
He’d fallen asleep before he realized it, and when he awoke, he wasn’t alone. “I was resting on our house’s balcony, and when I woke up two hours later, I discovered her napping on my stomach,” Ali told The Dodo. “At first, I mistook her for a rat.”
Ali had a tiny white kitten on her tummy, it turned out. It was purring and appeared to be content to be there. When he saw the tiny kitten down there, his heart melted.
Despite the fact that he had seen a lot of stray cats in his area, Ali thought this was unique and concluded that the kitten had picked him.
“It didn’t concern me if she had fleas or anything like that because I figured, ‘If she does have fleas, I probably already have fleas, so whatever.’”
The cat eventually awoke and appeared to be familiar with Ali.
“The first thing she does is get off the sofa, look me in the eyes, and start meowing for 20 seconds straight. Ali took the little kitten to bathe her, she liked it and it was at this moment that he thought of adopting her.
There is no rule in my house that forbids keeping pets in the house, so I decided to take it.
He named her Angel and took her to the vet; she was healthy but lacked a microchip, so she had no owner.
Everything has changed for both of them in the last two weeks; Angel now has a forever home, and Ali now has a tiny companion to play with.
“All I have to say is that she is the most fascinating cat I have ever had the pleasure of playing with. All she does is follow me around all day, looking for pets or to play.”
I was working with the laptop, she suddenly jumped on my lap. She just wants to hug him and leave.
